Tiger Woods has opened up about his “fantastic” relationship with his ex-wife and expressed his desire to continue playing golf at the highest level in a rare and extensive interview with Time.
Speaking this week with the magazine at Woods’ new restaurant in Florida, the former world No 1 said he still wanted to compete on the pro tour but recognised that it might not happen if the nerve damage in his back didn’t allow for it. In the meantime he had his family, who he spoke fondly of in the interview.

Woods, who turns 40 on December 30, said he has told 8-year-old Sam and 6-year-old Charlie that his parents don’t live in the same house because “Daddy made some mistakes”.
“I just want them to understand before they get to the internet age and they log on to something or have their friends tell them something,” Woods said.
“I want it to come from me so that when they come of age, I’ll just tell them the real story.
