In an interview shared on his Facebook account, Roger Federer revealed a great birthday party was held last week by his family to celebrate his 37th birthday. It was extremely funny, as the Swiss player himself told. ‘My wife said, Just let’s keep it simple, super relaxing.
37 is not 30, is not 20, is not a big one, so let’s keep it simple, we have enough busy days in my life,’ Federer admitted. ‘I had a super funny cake they created for me. I think I was on the cake playing tennis with my wife and all the four kids.
I remember my calf was so big, I was really proud of my calf. We had an easy time. In the evenings we had a dress-up, so we all looked very funny. They wanted me to dress like a Superman and Mirka was WonderWoman, and all the kids were Supermans and the women too.
I was like, Oh my God, the kids look so good. She (Mirka) looked amazing, I was looking like a Superman coming from the beach.’ Federer has a ton of fans around the world, but what is the Swiss player fan of? ‘I like FC Basel, my soccer team back home where I grew up, I followed them, I watched their matches on Livestream on Sunday,’ Federer said.
‘I like art, food, going for nice dinners, with my friends, my family, my wife sometimes, you know, romantic of course, I like it when we go out to a beautiful restaurant. And I just like being in the city centre of these big cities and going for a walk and seeing what the vibe is all about, and then, of course, I do love Switzerland so much, worth a trip, come to Switzerland! That’s the message for you.’ Federer is with his family in Cincinnati, like in 2015, the last time he competed there.
‘We like an easy week as a family before we go to the New York City which is such a different life’, he said. ALSO READ: Tsitsipas: ‘Rafael Nadal is a beast, monster. I hope to reach his level’
