It may seem like an unlikely friendship but Prince William and tennis superstar Roger Federer go way back.
Not only was Federer one of those lucky celebrities that got the exclusive invite to William and Kate’s wedding, it was also reported that Roger gave the Duke of Sussex’s son George a tennis lesson in 2019.

He later described George as a ‘sweet boy’ and that he was already showing great skills as a player.

Prince William attended the Australian Open in 2010 when he watched Federer smash Victor Hanescu at the Rod Laver Arena.
The crowd went crazy when William arrived at the court, maybe even generating more noise than when Federer himself walked out.
Federer tried to take his arrival in his stride, saying at the time: “I’ve had situations where someone walked in and there was a big round of applause.
