Russian tennis player Maria Sharapova was named as one of the 25 richest women in Russia according to Forbes. The Nyagan native has an estimated worth of $180 million. In 2018, the former world No. 1 was not included in the top 25 and in 2017 she was ranked 17th with $160 million.

It was a blessing and opened my eyes to what I had achieved and the number of people that respected what I did,” said Sharapova, who added: “I worked on Sugarpova consistently. I was investing in a few different businesses so I had time and then I got to spend the holidays at home which was such a treat for me.
“In sports, we can be seen as heroic, but at the end of the day we’re also very open to being vulnerable and entrepreneurship should be the same way, there’s no reason to hide the tough moments. I think that’s part of the scars that help you grow”.
